Island activities

• Exploring the village of Isla Mujeres with its many restaurants and shops where Mexican made crafts are sold.
• Swimming in temperate turquoise water and relaxing on the white sands of the Caribbean ocean.
• Ocean kayaking, boating (coral formations can be viewed from glass-bottomed boats), sailing, and yachting.
• Scuba diving and snorkeling in coral reefs where many tropical fish can be observed. The coral reef is the world's second largest and stretches from Cancun to Belize.
• Boat trip to Isla Contoy, a national bird sanctuary, to observe pelicans, cormorants, red-pouched frigates, flamingos, and herons.
• Sport fishing vessels equipped for big-game fishing (blue marlin, sailfish, wahoo tuna, kingfish, barracuda, & grouper) are available for private hire.
• Bicycling around the island (entire island is 5 miles in length).
• "Tortuga Marina" Turtle Farm where sea turtles are hatched between May and September each year (approximately 6,000 infant turtles are released each year).
• Swimming with the dolphins.
